Sinan Varis and Amalia Jaulin

We are looking for the sound and visual vibrations of these ephemeral events that we wish to mark in time. We call them fragments of memory, we capture them and we compose them as bodies assembling together. What is the limit of memory and its reinterpretation? Each individual tells what he has seen or heard in his own way the same event can be told in a thousand different ways. Our project is to capture a feeling of what surrounds us. We want to offer these sources of memories. Our projects are an invitation to plunge into a bath of parallel reminiscences with a different temporality. With or without links, all these fragments create a unique moment of sound and visual discovery that will be unique to each one. These creations can be the result of our pure intimacy, the contemplation of nature, a sharing or an encounter with another individual. The stories that emanate from this geo-experience share the culture of our world. Time differs from where we are in the world - the more we are in a so-called mechanical society, the more time oppresses us, eats away at us. And on the contrary, the more we are in nature, far from any human rule, the more time will be non-existent... Analyzing this time curve and playing with it inspires us and makes us want to create ambiences through these timeless sound installations.
