Labsonora

“For my upcoming field trip to Brazil’s Amazon region in April 2026, I will be part of Labsonora, a collaborative sound art residency rooted in sensitive listening and field-based research. Labsonora brings together sound artists and researchers with a focus on oral culture, ancestral music and bioacoustics. The program explores how sound practices can connect to environmental justice, weaving together questions of sustainability, socio-biodiversity, innovation and climate.

The Amazon holds one of the greatest biodiversities on Earth—and with it an extraordinary diversity of sound. My focus within this context is field recording as a way to gather material and perspective, to build a body of recordings that remains tied to place. The work is intended to develop from what I capture on site, keeping the artistic outcome open—shaped by what the recordings suggest and by what emerges later in the studio process.”
