Dimitris Savva

Dimitris focuses on recording and creating a comprehensive audio archive of ecologically significant forest soundscapes in the Troodos Mountains of Cyprus, capturing their diurnal and seasonal acoustic profiles. This archive will be used in workshops to raise awareness of acoustic ecology among the general public in Cyprus. He is also recording electromagnetic sounds from a photovoltaic park and using them to create music that embraces and promotes renewable energy.

Dimitris worked on three projects: "Cyprus Forest Soundscape”, “Acoustic Ecology" and “Photosonics". The Rycote Stereo Windshield adapters made it possible to use proper wind protection with the Lewitt LCT 540 S microphones for recording very quiet soundscapes in the Troodos Mountains of Cyprus, while electromagnetic Elektrouši and Geofón helped capture electromagnetic sounds from solar panel inverters that became part of the sonification process and three compositions based on solar data from sunrise to sunset.
